When I first bought my 92TT from out of state , Bank One would finance it but I had to have the car inspected in this state before they would sign the check over....only problem with that is the car was in Cali. Most people wont just give you their car and let you take it half way across country to get it inspected before you buy it. I told them that was unreasonable....and I got the standard "well that's the rule" I told them to bite me and said I would take my loan and accounts(cheking,savings,money market, several CD's all over 4 yrs old ) elsewhere. I told them I could get a loan from USAA and they would let me buy whatever I wanted from wherever and whomever I wanted (Only reason I didn't do that in the first place was I wanted to keep all my business in one place). They of course started backpedaling and tried to talk me into staying. They said that I could go buy the car with the USAA loan and then come back with the inspected car and they would buy out the loan.....I literally laughed my ass off right in the guys face...I almost fell out of the chair laughing. I said no thanks...close all my accounts and write me a check, we're no longer doing business. Long story short....I went with USAA and they gave me 120% of "Kelley Blue Book(which is always higher than everyone else)" No troubles or worries whatsoever.....closed all Bank One accounts and haven't talked to them since.....I would say that one cost them a pretty penny and of course all future pennies I would have given them. USAA gets my vote :)
